Mary Emily Sinclair

Mary Emily Sinclair (September 27, 1878 – June 3, 1955) was an American mathematician whose research concerned algebraic surfaces and the calculus of variations. She was the first woman to earn a doctorate in mathematics at the University of Chicago, and became Clark Professor of Mathematics at Oberlin College.[1][2]
