The Maya Awards (Thai: มายา มหาชน; RTGS: Maya Mahachon) is an annual Thai entertainment awards ceremony presented by Maya Channel Magazine. The awards honor people in the Thai entertainment industry[1][2] and their achievements in the music, film, television and drama. A selected panel of filmmakers and major film critics, which include directors, actors, and actresses take part in the nomination process and determination of winners.[3] It also includes people's choice categories where nominees are voted upon by people through mobile phones and the magazine's voting coupon.[4]
The first ceremony was held on 9 September 2015.[4]
On 19th September 2019, Maya Channel, the reputable entertainment news outlet in Thailand, has organized its 19th Maya Awards 2019, an annual award giving to people in Thailand's entertainment industry.
Nominations and awards are given to each year's best actors/actresses as well as local productions, making the Awards a Top Entertainment Awards in Thailand. Nominations and winners of awards are judged by a selected panel represented by major film critics and filmmakers, including directors, actors, and actresses.
