McLaughlin (Lakota: matȟó Akíčita or Makáȟleča;[6] "Bear Soldier") is a city in northeastern Corson County, South Dakota, United States. The population was 663 at the 2010 census. It is the largest city in the southern Standing Rock Indian Reservation. Most Lakȟóta speakers refer to the town as Makáȟleča or Matȟó Akíčita.
