Mount Chincogan (pronounced:tchin-COE-g'n)[1] is located northwest of Mullumbimby, New South Wales, Australia and west of Ocean Shores. It is part of a large shield volcano Mount Warning (Wollumbin) which erupted millions of years ago. It was originally a lava plug of the Tweed Volcano along with Mt Warning which have eroded at a much slower rate than the surrounding remnants.[citation needed]

It is on the land of the Bundjalung (Arakwal) people and is a sacred women's site.[2]
