Anand. The film stars Rajkumar and Lakshmi.[1] The Rajan–Nagendra duo scored and composed the film's soundtrack.
The film was remade in Tamil as Puthukavithai starring Rajinikanth and in Hindi by director Vijay as Pyar Kiya Hai Pyar Karenge.[2] The film garnered highly positive reviews upon release and was a blockbuster at the box office with a theatrical run of 175 days.[3] The film was dubbed in Malayalam in 1981 as Njaan Ninne Marakkilla.[4][5][6]
