Neotricula aperta is a species of freshwater snail, an aquatic gastropod mollusk in the family Pomatiopsidae.

The first record of the transmission of S. mekongi by Neotricula aperta (Tricula aperta) was reported in 1973 using sentinel mice on Khong Island, Laos.[2]

This species serves as a sole intermediate host for the fluke Schistosoma mekongi, that causes Mekong schistosomiasis.[3][4]
