North Karachi or New Karachi (Urdu: شمالی کراچی) is a town in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan.[1] North Karachi is located between the Lyari River, the Manghopir Hills and two major roads - Surjani Road to the north and Shahrah-e-Zahid Hussain to the south. To the north and west lies Gadap Town, and to the south lie the towns of Gulberg and North Nazimabad. The population of North Karachi Town was estimated to be about 500,000 at the 1998 census. In 2005, the projected population crossed the 1 million count.[2] There are several ethnic groups including Muhajirs, Punjabis, Sindhis, Kashmiris, Seraikis, Pakhtuns, Balochis, Memons, Bohras, Ismailis, etc. The North Karachi Town comprises Abu Zar Ghaffari Colony, Faisal Colony, Fatima Jinnah Colony, Godhra, Gulshan-e-Saeed, Hakim Colony Ahsan Colony, Kalyana Town, Shadman Town, Khamiso Goth, Khawaja Ajmeer Nagri, Madina Colony, Shah Nawaz Bhutto Colony etc. The Famous Chowrangi, namely Nagan Chowrangi, is also located in North Karachi Town. The Green Line Bus route also covers many areas of North Karachi.

Administratively, North Karachi comes under district 'Central' of Karachi.[3]

North Karachi Postal Codes starts from 71500 and goes up to 75850, there is no official legitimate website where you can find all these postal codes except the few areas of north karachi but recently there is a new website launched recently named Ittehad Marketing[4] is working of providing all the necessary area wise zip codes of north karachi at a single page.
