Novocheboksarsk[a] is a city in Chuvashia, Russia, located on the southern bank of the Volga River, about 3 kilometers (1.9 mi) east of Cheboksary, the capital city of the republic. It had a population of 124,097 (2010 Census);[4] 125,857 (2002 Census);[8] 114,760 (1989 Soviet census).[9]
