Odense Symphony Orchestra

The Odense Symphony Orchestra (Odense Symfoniorkester) is one of Denmark’s five regional orchestras. The orchestra was founded in 1946, but its roots go as far back as around 1800. From being a theatre orchestra that also played symphonic music, the orchestra today appears as a modern symphony orchestra. The orchestra is based at the Odense Concert Hall, which opened in 1982. Most of its concerts are held in the Carl Nielsen Hall, a venue known for its excellent acoustics, seating for 1,212 people, and a 46-stop organ built by Marcussen & Søn, one of the world's leading organ makers.^[1] Its chief executive is Trine Boje Mortensen
