Operation Sea Guardian

Operation Sea Guardian was launched as a maritime security operation by the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) during the Warsaw Summit in July 2016, aiming to expand NATO's role within the Mediterranean Sea.

Operation Sea Guardian took over from and transformed the role of Operation Active Endeavour, with its counter-terrorism mission being modified to encompass a considerably broader non-Article 5 maritime security operation.[1][2]
