Pakhtas

Pakthas or Pakhtas was an ancient Vedic Indo-Aryan tribe^[1] living in the northern borderlands of South Asia.^[2]^[3] They are considered to be one of the possible ancestors of modern Pakhtun people.^[2] They are identified with "Pactyans" by Herodotus.^[4]
