The episode depicts Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital grappling with power outages and a bus crash during a severe superstorm. Loosely inspired by Hurricane Sandy, which devastated the East Coast of the United States in 2012, the plot follows the doctors as they attempt to rescue survivors from the bus crash in the midst of the storm.[1]
