Peter J. Murray

Peter J. Murray born 1951[1] is a writer of children's books.

Best known for the popular Mokee Joe series, Peter has won the Stockton Children's Book Award,[2] the Sheffield Children's Book Award[3] and the Bedfordshire Children's Book of the Year Award for his writing.

Peter writes spooky stories for children aged 7–13.

The covers to Peter Murray's books are illustrated by Paul Bryn Davies, who has created covers for works by Stephen King and others.

Before Peter became a full-time children's author he taught mathematics at schools in the UK, most recently as Deputy Headteacher at Cheam School (the Hampshire school famous for having educated both Prince Philip and Prince Charles).[4]
