Petra Christian University, commonly abbreviated as PCU (Indonesian: Universitas Kristen Petra) is a major private Christian university the oldest and largest in Indonesia, located in Wonocolo District in Surabaya, East Java - Indonesia. It was established in 1961, founded by PPPK Petra, an educational Christian based in Surabaya which established in 1951. The Petra name itself is taken from the Greek language that translates as coral reef or rock.[2] It is Indonesia's best private university in the 2018-2021 QS World University Rankings and stands out as the only private university in Indonesia to make the top 10.[3][4][5][6]
