Pizza capricciosa (Italian: [ˈpittsa kapritˈtʃoːza, -oːsa]; lit.'capricious/whimsical pizza') is a style of pizza in Italian cuisine prepared with mozzarella cheese, prosciutto, mushroom, artichoke, green peas, egg, olives, and tomato.[1][2][3] Types of edible mushrooms used may include cremini (white mushrooms)[3][4] and others. Some versions may also use prosciutto, marinated artichoke hearts, olive oil, olives, basil leaves,[3][5] and egg.[6] Some versions may be prepared using a thin crust.[6] Although it has similar ingredients to pizza quattro stagioni, they are arranged differently.[7]
