Rajasinghe I also known as the lion of Sitawaka (Sinhala:පළමුවන රාජසිංහ)[2] was a king of Sitawaka, known for his patriotism and fight against the Portuguese invasion of Sri Lanka. Born as Tikiri Bandara to King Mayadunne, he received the name "Rajasinha" (meaning the Lion King) after the fierce Battle of Mulleriyawa.
