Richard Cleveland Nolan[1] (July 29, 1910 – April 16, 1996)[2] was an American football coach. He was one of the early adopters of a heavier schedule than his peer schools, playing 12 games a year. He later used football as a tool to develop physical fitness in the United States Navy.
