Richard Mattern Montgomery (December 15, 1911 – August 27, 1987), was a lieutenant general in the United States Air Force, and chief-of-staff of the U. S. Strategic Air Command from 1952 to 1956. He was vice commander-in-chief of the United States Air Force in Europe, from 1962 until he retired in 1966. He was buried at Arlington National Cemetery, in Arlington, Virginia.[1]
