Richard Mark Newby, Baron Newby OBE PC (born 14 February 1953) is a British politician who has been the leader of the Liberal Democrats in the House of Lords[1] since September 2016.[2] He served as Government Deputy Chief Whip in the House of Lords, as Captain of the Yeomen of the Guard between 2012 and 2015, as and Liberal Democrat Chief Whip in the House of Lords from 2012 to 2016.
