Rida (Arabic: رضا, romanized: Riḍā, also transcribed as Ridha, Reda, Redha or Roda) is an Arabic name which literally means "the fact of being pleased or contented; contentment, approval".[1] In the Arab world, the name is neutral and not one used only by a particular sect, and is used widely by Arab Christians and Arab Druze. According to Annemarie Schimmel, "riḍā is closely related to shukr"; "shukr" is an Arabic term denoting thankfulness and gratitude.[2]
The Iranian Persian version of this name is Reza, the Turkish one is Rıza, the Azerbaijani one is Rza and the Urdu one is Raza.
