Rionero in Vulture (Arbëreshë Albanian: Arrionero) is a town and comune in the province of Potenza, in the southern Italian region of Basilicata. It is located on the slopes of Monte Vulture in the northern part of the region. The village was founded and historically inhabited by the Arbëreshë minority, who no longer retain the language and the cultural Arbëreshe heritage.[3]
Rionero in Vulture was also founded by the Albanians from Corone, but subsequently the indigenous population assimilated Italian characteristics, causing the abandoning of the Albanian language and customs.
