Sanjeev Sanyal is an Indian economist, writer and popular historian. Currently he is a member of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister of India with rank of Secretary to Government of India. He is also Chancellor of Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics. He earlier served as Principal Economic Adviser to the Indian government (2017 - 2022) where he helped prepare six editions of the Economic Survey of India. Sanyal has represented India on several international organisations such as G7 and OECD, and served as the Co-Chair of G20's Framework Working Group. He was one of the architects of the G20's Global Action Plan that kept the world economy functioning during the Covid-19 pandemic. [3]
Sanyal has also written several books including some on Indian history. One of his book, Revolutionaries, is being converted into an Amazon Prime web series. [4]
