Saran (Kazakh: Саран, romanizedSaran; Russian: Сарань) is a city in Karaganda Region of Kazakhstan, on the Nura River. Population: 42,058 (2009 Census results);[2] 42,957 (1999 Census results).[2] The city was founded on December 20, 1954.
