Saudia (Arabic: السعودية, romanized: as-Suʿūdiyyah), formerly known as Saudi Arabian Airlines (Arabic: الخطوط الجوية العربية السعودية, romanized: al-Ḫuṭūṭ al-Jawwiyyah al-ʿArabiyyah as-Suʿūdiyyah), is the flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, based in Jeddah.[3][4] The airline's main hubs are the King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and the King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, the latter of which it plans to move out of by 2030.[5]
Saudia operates scheduled domestic and international flights to over 100 destinations in the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Europe and North America. Charter flights are operated mostly during the Ramadan and the Hajj seasons. It has been part of the SkyTeam airline alliance since 2012, making it the first carrier from the Persian Gulf region to join a major airline alliance. Saudia is a founding member of the Arab Air Carriers' Organization.[6]
Saudi Arabia's national carrier Saudia will take delivery of 30 aircraft this year, according to a Jan. 17 statement.
