Savenay (French pronunciation: [sav(ə)nɛ] ; Savenneg in Breton) is a town (administratively a commune) in the Loire-Atlantique department in western France which is part of the Pays de la Loire region. It is located on the Sillon de Bretagne (a mountain range defining the southern part of Brittany) and overlooks the marshes of the Loire river, seven kilometers to its south. Under the Old Regime, it was part of the province of Brittany.
