Sernovodsky District (Russian: Серноводский район; Chechen: Эна-Хишкан кIошт, Ena-Xişkan khoşt; 2012-2019: Sunzhensky District[6]) is an administrative[1] and municipal[4] district (raion), one of the fifteen in the Chechen Republic, Russia. It is located in the west of the republic. The area of the district is 450 square kilometers (170 sq mi).[2] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Sernovodskoye.[1] Population: 20,989 (2010 Census);[3] 20,108 (2002 Census).[7] The population of Sernovodskoye accounts for 51.5% of the district's total population.[3]
