Shatoysky District (Russian: Шато́йский райо́н; Chechen: Шуьйтан кӏошта, Şüytan khoşta) is an administrative[1] and municipal[3] district (raion), one of the fifteen in the Chechen Republic, Russia.It is located in the south of the republic. The area of the district is 505 square kilometers (195 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Shatoy.[1] Population: 16,812 (2010 Census);[2] 13,155 (2002 Census).[5] The population of Shatoy accounts for 17.6% of the district's total population.[2]
