Shevington is a village and civil parish within the Metropolitan Borough of Wigan, Greater Manchester, England.[3] The population of the Wigan ward called Shevington and Lower Ground had increased to 11,482 at the 2011 Census.[4]
Lying within the historic county boundaries of Lancashire, Shevington lies approximately 3 miles (4.8 km) from Wigan town centre, 3.5 miles (5.6 km) from Skelmersdale and at the 2001 census had a population of 9,786.[5]
