Gobban Find mac Lugdach (c560-639AD) also known as St.Gobban or Gobanus(Latin) and often described as the Goban Saor. Known for his founding and abbacy of the monastery of Oldleighlin, (Old Irish: Seanleithglinn), County Carlow, where in 633AD an important synod was held to debate the timing of Easter. This monastery later evolved into St. Laserian's or Lazerian's cathedral. St. Gobban also held authority at Killamery – Cell Lamraide in county Kilkenny.St Gobban died in 639AD and was buried in the ancient abbey of Clonenagh: Cluain-Ednech, County Laois. Ireland
