St. Michael's High School, Patna,[3][4] also referred to as SMHS Patna or SMHS for short,[5] is a private, Roman Catholic, co-educational high school in the Digha neighborhood of Patna, Bihar, India.
Established in 1858 initially as an orphanage,[6][7][8] it is one of the oldest schools in the state of Bihar,[9] and is currently managed by the Patna Province of the Society of Jesus. It was founded by the first Bishop of Patna, Msgr. Anastasius Hartmann.[10]
The current principal is Edison J. Armstrong who took charge in January 2016 from Peter Arockiasamy.[11] The school's patron saint is Saint Michael the Archangel. The school authority is the Central Board of Secondary Education in New Delhi.
