Suzanne Peignot

Suzanne Peignot (1940)

Suzanne Jeanne Marie Peignot, née Rivière (September 25 1895–April 25 1993), was a French soprano, privileged interpreter of The Six. Her friends nicknamed her la Reine des mouettes ("the Queen of the Seagulls"), an allusion to one of the melodies she successfully sang.[1] As for him, Erik Satie had nicknamed her ma très petite da-dame.
