Tabal (Neo-Assyrian Akkadian: 𒆳𒋫𒁄, romanized: māt Tabal and 𒌷𒋫𒁄, romanized: ālu Tabal[1][2][3]) was a region which covered south-east Anatolia during the Iron Age.[4] A Luwian-speaking Syro-Hittite Tabal state existed at that time in this area.
