The proceedings in the studio were also halted, with the show's production staff being immediately fired and the stunned studio audience being told by security to go home. - This sounds dubious, considering most television programs are recorded in advance of their screening date. Can anybody confirm this?
I don't believe it to be true. Firstly, it was only TCN-9 that pulled the plug after 30 minutes. GTV-9 ran the program until the last commercial break (about 9.20pm) and then went into "Cheers" instead of the last segment of the program. And regional affiliates (eg. VIC-TV) ran the one-hour (not 90 minutes) program in full as it was still going out on the Nine Network feed. --Andjb 13:39, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
