This is clearly related to the concept of "academic probation", and perhaps someone should write about this. Izzycat 21:17, 9 January 2006 (UTC)
- Agreed. But in a way, all new employees are placed on "probation"
during the first few weeks with a company (for reasons stated in the article). Academic probation is usually given to a college student who is teetering on "flunking out" (that is, they had poor grades during a semester, and are given a semester to "shape up").
