Talk:River Parishes Community College

The reason this page should not be deleted is because I work for River Parishes Community College and was asked to place our presence on Wikipedia. You are more than welcomed to contact me or the school at (225)675-8270 and ask for Julie Sullivan or our registrar (the person who gave me the electronic copy of the information posted) LeAnn Detillier at the same number. We are a small community college and we are trying to have our presence expand on the Internet as many other community colleges in the state have done. Many of our students do Internet research on potential schools before actually contacting us, this was another way to have more information on the Internet that we know is accurate and that we can control. Please feel free to contact me with any additional questions.

Thank you,

Julie Sullivan

I have edited a new page, since the old one is constantly deleted. Please review the new content before deleting.

Thank you,

Julie, what you put in was still a blatant advertisement, and I've had to rip it all out and start over, so that the article didn't get deleted again. You have an obvious conflict of interest in this matter, and should not be editing the article at all, much less adding all this material. The articles about a subject are not to be written by the subject or anybody too much connected to the subject. "information on the Internet... that we can control" is not the purpose of Wikipedia: we are a reference project, not a college directory. We do not permit anybody to "own" or "control" an article, least of an article about themselves, their employer, etc., as that would lead to blatant biases such as your version of the article displayed. --Orange Mike | Talk 15:50, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
