Shanghai Pai 上海派 is more often used rather than bang 帮- indeed Shanghai Bang 上海帮is sometimes used to refer to the Gang of Four (siren bang 四人帮) due to their Shanghai power base in the Cultural Revolution. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 137.205.8.2 (talk) 15:16, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
in Western literature "Shanghai Gang" seems to be more often used than "Shanghai Clique" (see, for example, McGregor, The Party). --13Peewit (talk) 09:32, 24 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
