Talk:Sikhs for Justice

==Importance of Punjab Referendum==

The referendum was intended to be done in Punjab and be open for everyone there. Its non-binding which means its really holds no power, if majority vote in favor of independence and freedom, India wont be obligated or expected to give any land at all. The entire purpose is to just give Sikhs a voice. We always here India and Indians claiming that Sikhs in Punjab and "India" dont want Khalistan, and that Sikhs suddenly become Khalistani when they move abroad, This referendum is to figure out the truth, if Sikhs in actually prefer India, or now want to break free, and want their own homeland, The referendum result will show that. India for whatever reason is strongly against Punjab being given a voice and has gone to the extent of arresting ppl for supporting Khalistan (Amritpal Singh, Jagtar Singh Jaggi, etc). & having posters that advocate for a peaceful referendum. According to SFJ, 200+ of their activists have been arrested in Punjab.

Since its illegal to do the referendum in Punjab, the organization instead has been doing mock referendums around the world to raise awareness until India allows Punjab and Sikhs to vote. The goal is to just show the world that Sikhs do want freedom from India and also to discuss the things India has done to us, and this is clearly hurting India because they've been asking other countries to limit the freedom of speech for Sikhs abroad and also assassinating Sikhs who are organizing these referendums, like Hardeep Singh Nijjar, or Bhai Inderjeet Singh Gosal, Pannun's Aid.

Once an overwhelming majority of Sikhs express the wish through ballot for independence from India, United Nations and other international forums will be approached with the goal to hold an official and binding referendum for establishment of Indian-held Punjab as a sovereign nation state. However, Punjab Referendum is an unofficial referendum where the outcome is not legally binding . Yet with an overwhelming YES vote this unofficial referendum will start the process which will pave the way for conducting an official and binding referendum in Indian held Punjab thereby achieving independence through democratic, peaceful and non violent means.

Khalistan Referendum is the initiative of human rights advocacy group "Sikhs For Justice" (SFJ). The voting is being conducted under the supervision of a nonaligned panel of experts on direct democracy - the Punjab Referendum Commission (PRC) PRC's mandate is to supervise and monitor the Referendum Question, voter eligibility, registration, balloting, tabulation and counting to ensure the compliance with international standards.

Election results will be posted upon the completion of all voting. Results will be tabulated exclusively by the Commission.

Outside Punjab, in India, voting will be held in all the countries/cities with significant Sikh population, In Punjab, All Indigenous Punjabis will be given the right to Vote, regardless of their faith. #PunjabReferendum #Khalistan
