Tapas Paul was an Indian actor and politician who is known for his work in Bengali cinema.[1] Winner of a Filmfare Award, Paul became one of the most successful actors of Bengali cinema during 1980s and 1990s.[1] He is widely celebrated for his on-screen romantic image. He made successful romantic collaborations with actresses such as Mahua Roychoudhury, Debashree Roy, Satabdi Roy, Indrani Dutta and Rachana Banerjee.[2] He made his debut in Tarun Majumdar's romantic drama Dadar Kirti (1980).
