The Taranaki cricket team represents the Taranaki Region of New Zealand. It competes in the Hawke Cup.

Taranaki as a representative team played as early as 1877.[1] The Taranaki Cricket Association was formed in Hāwera in March 1894,[2] and its first annual meeting was held in Hāwera in September 1894.[3] The clubs in the association at the time were Hawera, Hawera Star, New Plymouth, Clifton, Stratford, Unity and Opunake.[4]
