Tauberbischofsheim (German pronunciation: [taʊbɐˈbɪʃɔfshaɪm]) is a German town in the north-east of Baden-Württemberg on the river Tauber with a population of about 13,200. It is the capital of the Main-Tauber district. It is a popular tourist destination due to its numerous historical buildings, including substantial remains of the medieval town fortifications.
Tauberbischofsheim is also known for its fencers, who have won several Olympic medals and world championships.[3]
