- ... that the Arellano Chiefs, Benilde Blazers, EAC Generals, JRU Heavy Bombers, Letran Knights, Lyceum Pirates, Mapúa Cardinals, San Beda Red Lions, San Sebastian Stags and the Perpetual Altas play in the NCAA? Source: Each article has refs to its membership

- Comment: Most articles are not yet past the character limit, but I'll work on them by the weekend. I can hide the season-by-season records on articles as while some season articles are individually referenced, some are not, but supposedly these can be easily referenced by the Wayback Machine if needed. Letran Knights basketball is an old article and is not boldfaced.

- This is a nine article hook. All of them were created as redirects in the last year or two and were split off into articles in the proper time frame. The article prose is long enough and sourced throughout in most of the articles, but San Beda Red Lions basketball has some uncited paragraphs in their "Dynasty" section, and San Sebastian Stags basketball and Perpetual Altas basketball need some citations too. For all articles, citations are needed for their depth charts and season records. Also, please pipe out the disambiguator for National Collegiate Athletic Association (Philippines). I think the hook should not include the Letran Knights as you're not saying that the hook includes all NCAA teams. Nine QPQs need to be provided. – Muboshgu (talk) 20:48, 23 October 2022 (UTC)
- Uncited paragraphs:
Working on it Done
- Season records: Would it suffice to cite individual season articles? This is not like US based leagues where there is a single website where you can site these.
- Depth charts: Those are added by someone else and are uncited and would be removed.
- Disambiguator: Do you mean "NCAA" should appear as "NCAA (Philippines)"? That kills the hookiness of the hook, IMO. Howard the Duck (talk) 00:57, 24 October 2022 (UTC)

- Howard the Duck, I'd argue that it'd be MOS:EGGy to most to include a link labeled "NCAA" that does not lead to the primary topic under "NCAA" (it redirects to the American organization). My apologies, but I would argue that the link should be expanded, or in some way clarified. theleekycauldron (talk • contribs) (she/her) 10:01, 31 October 2022 (UTC)
- This is DYK; this is the point of hooky hooks. Wikipedia readers are not exclusively American. We don't disambiguate for other purposes. What makes this special? Howard the Duck (talk) 11:50, 31 October 2022 (UTC)
- The only time these days in which DYK chooses not to clarify an acronym is when the acronym is so unambiguously associated with its target worldwide that a disambig would be unnecessary. At minimum, that means being the primary topic of the redirect – see USA, UK, EU, NCAA, FBI, CIA, LAX... a DYK hook that links to University of South Asia under USA probably wouldn't fly at DYK unless it was for April Fools'. While I do respect a good EGGy hook (I've done one myself!), I'd argue that printing something that is misleading in a way that many people would take as true without questioning would not be a justified bend of the policy. theleekycauldron (talk • contribs) (she/her) 12:30, 31 October 2022 (UTC)
- Fine. I withdraw this nomination. Can somebody archive this? I also won't be proceeding with the reviews of the nominations above that I wasn't able to attend to yet, and I will be noting that on each nomination page. Howard the Duck (talk) 12:33, 31 October 2022 (UTC)
- This wasn't a problem in Template:Did you know nominations/Bonnie Tan, but I guess DYK people are making Americans stupid to discern this time.
- And for a non-American, LAX means nothing to me unless relaxing, I guess? Don't Americans associate "UK" with the University of Kentucky? Howard the Duck (talk) 12:38, 31 October 2022 (UTC)
- marking as withdrawn. Looking back at Bonnie Tan, I recall no memory of the fact that that was the Philippines' NCAA – must have automatically associated it with the American organization. UK is widely understood to mean the United Kingdom among Americans, as far as I know – if it's for the University of Kentucky, I've never heard that before. theleekycauldron (talk • contribs) (she/her) 20:10, 31 October 2022 (UTC)
- Is this nomination really going to be withdrawn over an EGGy link? It would seem like a shame to just abandon this nomination over that. It should be relatively simple to clarify that the NCAA being mentioned here is the Philippines' one and not America's. To answer questions above, it seems that the University of Kentucky can indeed be abbreviated as "UK" (in addition to UKY and U of K), but that's not the most common meaning of UK over there (they associate it with the United Kingdom instead). Indeed, when it comes to sports, I've most often read the university as being called "Kentucky" rather than "UK", so it doesn't seem like "UK" referring to the University of Kentucky is that common there without a disambiguation. - Popping back in, I don't think this should be withdrawn. I'm not that against the EGG issue since, yeah, this is DYK and sometimes EGG is the point. – Muboshgu (talk) 18:32, 10 November 2022 (UTC)
- Should have pinged you Howard the Duck to make sure you saw my comment. – Muboshgu (talk) 19:08, 12 November 2022 (UTC)
