Golden
earrings found in tombs from the
Silla Kingdom, designated
National Treasure No. 90 of
South Korea in 1962. Earrings are pieces of
jewellery attached to the ear via a
piercing in the ear, or else clipped onto the ear, generally the
earlobe in either case. They may be made of any number of materials, including
metal,
plastic,
glass,
precious stone,
beads,
wood, and
bone. Earrings are worn by both sexes, although more common among women, and have been used by different civilizations in different times.
