re: Servilia tree.

  • (M.L. Clarke, The Noblest Roman, 1981 Thames & Hudson) Porcia Catonis, daughter of M. Porcius Cato (95-46BC) was married to M. Calpurnius Bibulus (co-Cos with Caesar, d 48BC) before M. Junius Brutus (85?-42BC) who also was previously married to Claudia. Also, Junia Prima is shown as married to Lepidus, Junia Tertia to Longinus, the other child is just listed as dead.
  • (E.S. Gruen the Last Generation of the Roman Republic) says that Lucullus was married to Cato's half-sister Servilia; what you have is probably fine since Lucullus died in 56 BC). Hortensius daughter was the wife of Cato's stepbrother Q. Servilius Caepio who adopted Brutus
  • I also have Friedrich Münzer which traces this stemma back to Cn Servilius Caepio, Cos169.
  • I can not find anything about how they are related to the branch P. Servilius Geminus Cos 252, 248 and/or C. Servilius Geminus, praetor before 218 and his descendants. Is the idea to show multiple disconnected stemma? I think it would be good to do so, because their descent (no doubt claimed, even if dubiously) from Servellius Ahala is important.
