Terry Lee Maple[1] (September 10, 1946 – December 3, 2023) was an American ethologist, wildlife conservationist, professor emeritus of the Georgia Institute of Technology, and zoo director emeritus.

Maple authored many publications on animal welfare. He was best known for his 18-year tenure as director, and later President and CEO, of Zoo Atlanta. He was credited with transforming the troubled zoo into a model institution and fiscally sound cultural attraction.[2]
