The Pastel Society

The Pastel Society is an art society, based in London, which promotes the use of pastel painting[1] in contemporary art, through exhibitions, workshops, demonstrations and lectures.[2]

The Pastel Society is a registered charity and was founded in England in 1898.[1] Its first exhibition was held in the Royal Institute, Piccadilly, London.[2] It holds an annual exhibition in the Mall Galleries.[2] In 2015 there were over 55 members, who are professional artists.[2]

It is one of the 9 member societies that form the Federation of British Artists.[3]
