The Student (Russian: Учени́к, romanized: Uchenìk) is a 2016 Russian drama film directed by Kirill Serebrennikov based on Marius von Mayenburg's play Märtyrer. It was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival[1][2] where it won the François Chalais Prize.[3]The Student also won Best Composer at 2016 European film Awards.[4]
