Thomas Peter Meighan (/ˈmiːən/, born 11 January 1981) is an English singer. He was the lead vocalist of the rock band Kasabian from 1997 to 2020, recording the band's first six studio albums before parting ways.
With Meighan, Kasabian enjoyed a long run of commercial success, including five number-one albums on the UK Albums Chart and four top-10 hits on the UK Singles Chart. Meighan left Kasabian in July 2020 once the band's other members learned that he was charged with domestic violence.[1]
He was said to have an intense, frenetic personality both on and off stage.[2] He has been compared to Liam Gallagher, whom he has referred to as the "perfect frontman".[3] Meighan finished 13th in Radio X's poll of the greatest frontmen.[4]
