Thomas Glenn Shypitka is a Canadian politician, who was elected to the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia in the 2017 provincial election.[1] He represents the electoral district of Kootenay East as a member of the BC United caucus.[1] In Opposition, he has served as the Official Opposition Critic for Energy and Mines; Energy, Mines and Low Carbon Innovation; and Mines and Low Carbon Innovation.
Shypitka is also an accomplished curler,[2] having represented British Columbia at the 1991 Labatt Brier and 2010 Tim Hortons Brier. It is believed he is also the only player in Brier history[citation needed] to appear as both a right and left handed thrower (right handed in 1991, left handed in 2010), due to a knee injury.[3]
