Trechini is a large tribe of ground beetles in the family Carabidae. There are more than 270 genera and over 2,400 described species in Trechini, found throughout the world.[1][2]

The ground beetles of this tribe are small, typically less than 5 mm in length and sometimes 1 mm or less. They occur in a wide variety of habitats on every continent except Antarctica.[3] Though the extinct genus Antarctotrechus indicates that they were formerly present on that continent.
