Trivedi is a family name from northern and western India^[1] reflecting the mastery over the Sama Veda(including the Vedic Branch he was born into). In Sanskrit Trivedi means 'one that knows the Sama Veda’, from tri = 'three' + veda ‘sacred knowledge' leading to vedi = 'to see'. They are also known as Tripathi and Tiwari in some parts of north India.
